Whether you've already noticed or not, we've updated our Flashcard reviewing application, and added a whole bunch of new features and options!
What's Changed
We've switched the main software from Flash over to an original AJAX-based solution which gives us a lot of new features like:
- Automatic Saving
- Real-time changing of text size
- Help and Options are more easily available from within the tester
- Display of flashcard comments during testing
- Better integration with the rest of the site (currently only the flashcard software was Flash-based)
- Easier integration means it's easier to add new features and functions to the flashcard system
- Full-screen support for those users who don't want to be tied up in a lightbox while testing (Just ctrl-click the link to open in a new window!)
What's Stayed the Same
We've kept our commitment to a light, fast-loading, feature-filled application to help you learn Japanese quickly and efficiently. Our flashcard system is still based on the Leitner SRS Memorization system, and is presented with an easy-to-use, easy-to-master interface, but now gives you even more power through multiple optional settings to customize your reviewing experience.
And for those who don't like the new version, we still have the old version waiting for you! Just click the link at the top of your Flashcard page!
What the Future Holds
We're currently working on a number of new interesting features for our flashcard testing systems, and hope to have them available to you by the end of the year.
We want to improve support for our Leitner SRS review system, and as such are currently working on the following upgrades:
- Better support for Spaced Repetition Learning, using the stack-based Leitner System.
- Pack-less testing -- sort, combine and review cards based on retention and mastery levels instead of merely which pack they belong to.
- Tagging of cards to test not only by pack, but also by subject matter
- Automatic alerts for cards in need of review.
- More customization options for reviewing
- and much more!
